The Rookie shocked fans when the series killed off major character Captain Zoe Andersen (Mercedes Mason) during its first season. Season 1 Episode 16, “Greenlight,” delivered plenty of action when Andersen and and series protagonist John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) were kidnapped by a gang during a staged burglary that led to Andersen’s demise.
