“It’s time for the Jedi to end,” is the ominous phrase wrapping up the trailer for the highly anticipated Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. The trailer, which was released Friday morning, highlights Rey’s training with Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, who channels his former master Yoda, and encourages the young heroine to breath and reach into the Force.
The trailer offers some striking visuals of everything that fans could hope for in a Star Wars film: space battles, landscapes of beautiful planets, and glimpses into the activities of our new band of heroes, Rey, Finn, BB8, and Poe Dameron.
The Last Jedi is a follow-up to 2015’s The Force Awakens, and is expected to pick up where the previous movie ended; the meeting of Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Joe Boyega, Adam Driver, and Oscar Isaac reprise their roles of Finn, Kylo Ren, and Poe Dameron, respectively.
The film has a December 15 release date.
