27 years after his big screen debut, Pennywise the Clown is returning to the small town of Derry, Main to terrorize a new generation of filmgoers in the upcoming remake of Stephen King’s classic 1986 horror novel. “It” was first adapted in the 1990 live action film starring Tim Curry in the iconic role as the killer clown.
The new movie, which comes out in late summer, isn’t straying far from the source material which elevated the original film to cult status. The classic gutter scene opens the trailer, and the audience is fed several horrifying scenes in which a group of young children, among them Stranger Things Finn Wolfhard, are stalked by Bill Skarsgard’s take on the child-killing monster hidden deep within the dark bowels of Derry’s underbelly.
The terror hits theater screens on September 8, 2017.
